SBI Trade Finance Officer Eligibility 2026

Candidates applying for the SBI Trade Finance Officer Recruitment 2026 must fulfill the prescribed eligibility conditions related to educational qualification, age limit, and work experience.

JMGS-I Eligibility

For the Trade Finance Officer–IBG (JMGS-I) post, candidates must fulfil the following conditions:

Age: 21 to 30 years as on 31 July 2026.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must be graduates in any discipline from a Government-recognised University or Institution. In addition, candidates must have a Certification in Forex Operations from IIBF, dated on or before 31 July 2026.
Experience: Minimum 1 year post-essential-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing and operations in an Officer/Official role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank. Experience as a Maker is preferred.

MMGS-II Eligibility

For the Trade Finance Officer–IBG (MMGS-II) post, the requirements are:

Age: 23 to 32 years as on 31 July 2026.
Educational Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from a Government-recognised University or Institution. Candidates must also possess the IIBF Certification in Forex Operations, dated on or before 31 July 2026.
Experience: Minimum 3 years post-essential-qualification experience in Trade Finance processing in an Officer/Official role in any Scheduled Commercial Bank.

SBI Trade Finance Officer Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the SBI Trade Finance Officer Recruitment 2026 will be conducted in multiple stages. Candidates will be shortlisted based on eligibility criteria and relevant experience.

Stage 1: Shortlisting – Applications will be shortlisted based on educational qualification and work experience.
Stage 2: Interview – Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview carrying 100 marks. The final merit list will be prepared based only on interview performance.
Stage 3: Document Verification & Medical Examination – Candidates who qualify for the interview round will undergo document verification and a medical examination before the final appointment.

SBI Trade Finance Officer Salary

What Will a Trade Finance Officer Do at SBI?

The job role and duties of a Trade Finance Officer under the two different grades have been discuess below:

JMGS-I: Maker Role

The JMGS-I officer will primarily work in the Maker role. Responsibilities include:

  • Entering trade transactions into banking systems.
  • Scanning and uploading relevant documents.
  • Handling TI+ data entry for trade finance transactions.
  • Scrutinising documents before sending them for approval.
  • Entering screening data into relevant systems.
  • Processing allotted Trade Finance and Forex transactions accurately.
  • Maintaining prescribed turnaround time (TAT).
  • Completing internal certifications and process-learning modules.

MMGS-II: Checker Role

The MMGS-II officer will primarily function in the Checker role. Responsibilities include:

  • Checking transaction details entered by Makers.

  • Conducting screening scrutiny under sanctions and AML policies.
  • Validating regulatory compliance.
  • Working as an OFAC releaser.
  • Monitoring staff performance and productivity.
