The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has issued a circular dated August 2, 2026, informing its office bearers, state federations and affiliated unions that Public Sector Banks (PSBs) have placed an indent with the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) for the recruitment of 11,403 Customer Service Associates (CSAs)/Clerks for the financial year 2027-28 (April to March). The circular contains the detailed bank-wise and state-wise distribution of the vacancies proposed by the participating PSBs.

11,403 Clerk/CSA Posts Proposed for Recruitment
According to the circular, banks have collectively placed an indent with IBPS for 11,403 Clerk/CSA vacancies for the financial year 2027-28. AIBEA stated that this follows its earlier circular dated August 1, 2026, which informed members about the overall recruitment plan. The latest circular provides the complete breakup of the proposed recruitment across participating banks and states.
State-Wise Distribution Released
The circular shows that the recruitment indent has been distributed across all states and Union Territories. Among the states, Uttar Pradesh has the highest proposed recruitment with 1,731 posts, followed by Karnataka (1,414), Maharashtra (1,051), West Bengal (946), Gujarat (698), Tamil Nadu (675), Madhya Pradesh (570), Bihar (491), Punjab (481), and Delhi (415). The document also provides the allocation for the remaining states and Union Territories, giving a detailed picture of the proposed recruitment across the country.

Bank-Wise Allocation Included in the Circular
Apart from the state-wise figures, the circular also provides the bank-wise allocation of vacancies among the participating PSBs, including Bank of Baroda (BoB), Bank of India (BOI), Bank of Maharashtra (BoM), Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Punjab National Bank (PNB), Punjab & Sind Bank and UCO Bank. The combined recruitment indent submitted by these banks stands at 11,403 Clerk/CSA posts for the financial year 2027-28.
